Amy Luinstra sat down with Video4Good at the 2013 Ethical Sourcing Forum to talk about what Better Work is doing to improve conditions in factories around the world.

As a partnership of the International Finance Corporation and the International Labor Organization, Better Work’s mission is to improve working conditions and competitiveness in the apparel supply chain.  Luinstra describes the two primary methods they use to achieve this: assessment of compliance to labor standards and capacity building.  She emphasizes that it is very important to “build capacity for on-going problem solving in the factory.”  Better Work does this through specific training programs and by helping to facilitate worker-management dialogue.
